Workings of Banksia
Workings of Banksia, 49 x 49cm stretched canvas with thickly applied impasto palette knifed oil paint framed in recycled Aussie Silver Ash
I am transfixed and a little in love with Banksia! I wanted to focus this painting on her beautiful colours of early Summer. Those gorgeous fresh pink tipped leaves which in contrast are lifted by darker more sculptural leathery leaves fanned below, lending themselves so beautifully to application with thick paint and a palette knife.
