No.1 in study of 9 paintings from my field trip to West Head in Kuringgai Chase
20 x 28cm palette knife oil on canvas.
Palette knife explorations begin, form and hue shape the story of the emotional affiliation I have with this tree that was shaped through light. This is a study to tell the story of gum tree, gather its journey through colour and hue with paint application via knife and allow the eyes and mind to find spaces to dream. The most simple of my studies and one that will stay in the family with my sister. Hopefully when I see it it will serve as a reminder to keep it simple.
